I'm asking in Off-Topic because it's not for my car (Golf 2.5) but my wife's new Audi A5 with 18" wheels. The dealer offered 5 years wheel & tire protection plan for $1,200. Rim scuffs will be buffed out (not replaced) but if the rim gets dented from going in potholes, the whole rim will be replaced under the plan.
Would like your opinion on whether it is worth it? I know on paper it may look like if I bust one wheel it will probably cost $180 for a tire, plus $200-400 for a aftermarket rim. But I probably will not be able to buy the same design rim by the time a wheel gets busted, so I will probably need to change all 4 rims if that happens, and if so I think it might be worth it.
