- What is a fair price for a used R? Am I off base with my offer?

Their ask seems a bit high. Got my 17 MT R for $29k. It's fully loaded and had 26k miles. Flawless condition, but with black Enkei TS9's. I look at used R's for sale from time to time and I feel that I got a pretty good deal. $38k seems $2-3k high imo.

Could always look into a used A3 as well, if it's the golf performance you're after. 2017s are going for around 17-20k with about 30k miles near me. You get the GTI powertrain with AWD. The A3 also had one of the best modern infotainment systems imo.

Can then put that extra money you save into fun mods . I've put about 7k into my A3 and it easily hangs with 50k cars on the track and strip
