Changed the manual transmission fluid today and since there wasn’t much info about the fill location I thought I was going to have to use the shift tower. I got the shifter removed and started wondering about the black plug directly below that spot. I pulled it out and found out that I can fill from there instead of messing with the shifter.
10 minute job after that. You just have to keep track of how much you add since it won’t drip out like the lower fill plug on the older 02Q. 2.3 liters of EQT’s Redline cocktail and it’s shifting great.

19mm for the black plug
2 feet of 1/2 inch clear vinyl hose with a funnel.
