Mazda3s vs Golf

Both are automatics

2011 Mazda3 S hatch with the 2.5 motor or 2011 Golf 4 door.

Looking for FUN, secondary is the useful features of a hatch and 3rd is reliablity as both have great records in CR.

From what I've heard, the Mazda is more fun to drive. If you can live with that smiley face I'd say the Mazda is the better choice here.

That's a tough one. I'd probably go for the 3.
I am unimpressed with the Golf/Rabbit with the 2.5L, especially with the auto. IIRC the 3 is cheaper. I'd save the scratch and go for the 3.

Definitely the Golf. I've ridden in my friends new Mazda 3's and they just feel cheap compared to my Rabbit.

^^^ No MT except in the base model + dual-clutch auto that feels like a slush box. Utter failure on Fords part.

Dad has a mazda 3. He hates it. Its loud and feels like a big piece of sheet metal. Yes its a tad more fun than my golf but both feel very different.
Just add a sway bar to the golf and you're good to go. The VW is built MUCH better than the 3.....the 3 is cheaper though.

GOLF!! My wife had one. Wasnt as fast as GTi but still liked driving it from time to time. Mazda's just feel cheap to me.
