Need some help with my fathers car

My dad has a 2005 cadillac deville. And as soon as he parked into the driveway and turned off the ignition, his car just died. He put the parking brake on as the car died. I first thought his battery died, but we tried jumping it but no luck. He has lights in his window buttons and whatnot , but no dome lights or radio. Now i dunno what to do. He cant get his key out of the ignition as well. Also my dad claims that this happened as soon as my mom locked her van with the remote key, ( i doubt that has anything to do with it)

Now i know this is a VW site, but there are no active cadilac sites.

don't cadillacs have even worse electrical systems than VWs. my bets a short

it was the ignition switch fuse.../thread

2. put car back in its space on the dealer lot
