No manual transmission option in 2018 Jetta GLI

VW kills manual transmission in 2018 Jetta GLI. Article says it might come back with 2019s.

They've done it before. I know when I was getting my mk6 I got super unlucky because it was in 2013 and I wanted a golf, but the 2013 base golf didn't come with a manual for reasons of VW felt like being a jerk that year?

I am guessing that (assuming they aren't just axing it for good, which seems premature) they are waiting for a full on redesign/update and are going to roll out a modern six speed manual. Maybe.

Hopefully they bring it back. Maybe they killed it because sales did not cross break even profit based on previous sale numbers.
