Sorry for the dumb question but my oil change is due on 100miles and I was wondering what oil do I need to get? How much do I need etc? Would someone link me some products? I really appreciate everyone's help 🙏😊

Should be a sticker in the engine bay with the oil weight.
You'll have to refer to your owners manual for quantity or give us more information as this forum covers all possible Mk8 Golf versions.

Manuals are available online for every car. Bought one online for my sister’s Subaru for $12.00. Can’t imagine owning one of these cars without a manual. Your car needs to have the correct oil to maintain the warranty. Also do yourself a favor and change every 5,000 miles.

Thank you the number plate search does not even work. It keeps saying invalid 😔
I have the 2020 model if that helps
Then try your car’s VIN at the first link posted by @CH47AV8R in post #4 above.

VIN should be on your V5 registration document. Alternatively, it should be on the passenger side of the dashboard, visible from outside the car (bottom corner of passenger side of windscreen).

The parts department of local VW dealer should also be above to tell you the correct oil for your car by looking it up on their system. You should just need to give them either your car’s reg no. or VIN.

Hi thank you. I just got quoted from a local garage and the guy said he will buy and fill in the oil for me for a total of £120. Does that price sounds about right to you? Appreciate your help again 😊

I have a service plan on my car, so I‘m not sure I can comment on whether the price you’ve been quoted is there or thereabouts. Based on the March 2023 article at the link below, there can be quite a large variation in price, depending on the type and volume of oil used, the garage used and your location.

If using an independent garage, I’d be looking to use one that’s a VW specialist which reduces the risk the wrong type of oil being used. Also, an independent VW specialist is more likely to have access to VW‘s online system, so could update your car’s digital service record.

The article at the link above is suggesting circa £100 as an average cost but as said, the price will vary depending on the factors mentioned above.

Agree. The independent shop likely be cheaper as well, at least on this side of the pond.
