I'm going to be working on my cousin's C240 with him later this week.

Valve Cover Gaskets
Recirculating Cover Gaskets
12 Spark Plugs (2 plugs per cylinder FML)
Oil/Filter/Plug/Washer

NOT wanting to go to the dealer, since it's the same one as VW and I'm "Banned" from there.

Also, they have a 325Ci we've been working on this week.

We did:
Oil Filter Housing Gasket
Expansion Tank
Transmission Cooler Thermostat
Oil/Filter/Plug

We will be doing:
Valve Cover Gasket Set
Spark Plugs
Coil Packs

Anyone know of a good site for parts?

I always use Paul at KefferVW for my stuff, but it seems there is nobody as cool as he is for those cars.

My wife's car. Its a shit pile. 2002 Pontiac Vibe (essentially the Matrix). Just basic stuff like oil changes, coolant system flush, fluids, starter motor, battery, spark plugs. Its got 80k on it and drives like a car with 300k miles on it. The engine is fine (gutless, 1.4L camry engine I think) but everything else about it says Pontiac and driving it feels like it could just fall apart on the highway at any moment. High time for her to get something else but we don't exactly want another car payment.

Lots of good MB aftermarket shoips available, I deal mostly in older MBs but I'm sure they have stuff for newer models as well. Checkout peachparts/pelicanparts (just wnt under new management...I ALWAYS order from there for German parts, customer service is second to none)

I checked them out.

Do you know if they stock OEM parts?

I always try to use Genuine OEM stuff whenever I can.

Started fucking with my '92 Mazda B2200 again today.

It's kinda been passed down my family. My cousin bought it new in '92 as his first truck, my uncle drove it for about 10 years and we just bought it for $400 last winter.

2.2L Carbed
5MT
2WD

209k miles on stock everything.

Conventional Oil since day one.

Finally ate a head gasket.

Pulled the Valve Cover and found this, which really isn't bad at all for 209k.

Parts List:
  • Valve Cover Gasket Kit
  • Intake Manifold Gasket
  • Exhaust Manifold Gasket
  • Head Gasket
  • Coolant
  • Oil and Filter

There may be more parts to add as this progresses.

I'm NOT going to have the head resurfaced... after all it's a $400 truck, it should be fine.

I'll be working on this with my dad in our free time. Should be rather simple and it's obviously going to be a beater still, but it will at least run better.
