JFC. WTF. FML. How do you remove this thing? I tried heating with heat gun. I tried angle a screwdriver to pry under it but canā€™t get leverage. It doesnā€™t budge. Tips to get this thing off?

The breather hose, should have 2 tabs on the connection to the TIP, I wedged the pick under one of the tabs while pulling and rotating the hose away from the inlet pipe

I ended up taking the TIP off, after I broke the PVC hose. :cautious:

That sucker was a PITA.

Is this a early gen problem? If I remember correctly when I did my intake and tip on my 7.5 I just squeezed the tabs and pulled it off. Took roughly 3 seconds.

Nope. If I remember correctly the OEM TIP it was pretty easy to pull off.

When I replaced the PCV on my GTI, I went with the ECS breather hose specifically for that reason. Wanted to never have to dick with that connector again.

Horribly difficult To get off.
Me too.
I knew I'd be working with different intakes and planned ahead.
