I ran into my ex's dad the other day. He was an oil tanker captain for like 25 years and now works for a large oil shipping company. He said it's a huge pain in their ass because they have to pay the whole crew (which isn't very large) a big bonus as hazard pay to go near Somalia. They've been lucky so far.
