Quad Exhaust. Impressive!?

Noticed that the new Camry has quad exhaust!
Must have flow issues as the outside pipes did not have any carbon build up?

Surely not fake?

No clue. I've heard, though, that a lot of quad-exhaust systems are mostly cosmetic.

I just wonder if anyone in the design room at Toyota said......
.....why are we adding non working quad exhaust on a Toyota Camry?

I know the Camry is getting better but does it need quad exhaust?
I felt sorry for Altima owners who paid more for a 3.5L with dual exhaust to see newer 2.5L Altima's also with dual exhaust.

Duel exhaust for everyone and now quad exhaust.
All electic cars should have quad exhausts with speakers in them.

An after market mod for them will be spray on carbon build up.

Well, strictly speaking, quad exhausts are very functional. They function very well as marketing tools. I admit, the quad exhausts on the R are good looking, and make the car look more aggressive, which it needs, because, well, it's a Golf. And a Golf without even the modicum of snark the GTI pulls off. Clearly, people like the look, that like turns into sales, so voila, quad exhausts.

From an engineering standpoint, yeah, kind of useless. But then again, there are zero cars designed purely from an engineering standpoint with no attention to marketing.

The R looked much better with a dual tip in the center compared to the goofy quad tips. As far as the new Camry - it looks like they hired the same designers that ruined the look of the Acura line a while back... just doesn't do it for me. FUGLY front end. Space ships. They look like space ships.

Can't argue with that. I'm not saying I agree with the logic they use; as much as I kind of like the quads on the R, I'd prefer functional duals.

I saw an article from car and driver that said two of them are blocked off to any exhaust flow, purely cosmetic. This may have been on the previous MY though
