Just as you can arbitrarily pick anything else to your own personal taste you can pick and choose which companies public stances rise to the level of you choosing not to do business with them.

I don't think you have to research all these things before hand. You'll learn things as the information flows to you naturally. You can choose to continue doing business with a company or not based on what you learn...when you learn it.

You don't have to hold yourself to an all or nothing standard just because you've chosen one business to personally boycott.
