It's ok, close to subsonic though like the 45acp. There are rounds in the 1400 fps ranges

Some people feel that .380 is underpowered. I personally feel that at the range you will be using a .380 (3-5 yards) and with appropriate ammunition (jhp) it is the perfect real world round due to unlikelihood of over penetration.

The proper ammo for .380 is FMJ. JHP will not reach the FBI minimum penetration distance. FMJ does.
