The Ring

Has any member here, or anybody you know, lapped the MKV GTI around the Nurburgring yet? I'm wondering what the time is. I'm constantly lapping 8:50 in GT4 on PS2, but that's a game. I'm wondering what a realistic number would be.

GT4 is realistic, if you haven't heard lol. I don't know what other people have gotten, but even race car drivers are getting within seconds of both times.

I found a great list here.
According to that, the Mk V GTI (w/DSG) did it in 8:52. The Mk IV R32 did it in 8:37 for comparison.

I was thinking that I could do it in 10 minutes earlier in the year, but I was told by a German friend of mine who's done many laps around the 'Ring that I could probably manage it in 8-9mins. His estimate seems to be correct as the 8:52 shows!

Hopefully I'll be going in the summer, Junish. Got to look up what forms I need to fill out et cetera, anyone want to offer any advice?
I'll be sure to take my video camera along for the passenger (my brother!) to hold on to...
