I don't really want to weigh in on his story too much, especially since it's just his side of it. It seems fishy and incredulous to me - I'll leave it there.
What is more interesting to me is his claim that VWoA is trying to attack his website. The logs he presents shows that someone inside of VWoA's corporate network tried to run a website vulnerability scanning tool against his website. That's probably not illegal in of itself, but it's totally unprofessional behavior on their part if they really did that.
