Want To Recover My HD?

Came Back home to find out the we had a power failure ,

so i try to switch on my PC , but it wont boot, " insert bootable device "

i tried my spare HD which i have an XP on it , it booted up fine, so i check my HD and it seems that it nut running(Cant feel the disk running) ,it has 120 GB of important files , is there anyway i can recover the files

if it isn't recognized by windows then it may be fucked and you'd have to take it somewhere to recover the data.

you can swap an identical controller card (usually what fails) has to have the same firmware and see if that works.

if it is recognized in windows, run a check disk and then find a program online for either partition recovery or file recovery, you can find some "free" ones or pay $50-100 for a good one.

I've been pretty lucky at opening the HD up and giving the disk a good spin while starting the computer up. Get one last chance to get everything off the drive I needed.

try the cheaper methods mentioned above first. if it is uber important data, you can pay a data recovery company, but that can cost $$$.
