I had a '74 VW Thing. It was "wild" to say the least.... it was an amazing desert vehicle when I took it to my dads place in New Mexico. Shitty that my dad wrecked it(DUI) while I was was away in the Marine Corps. *bastard*

I didn't own it, but my dad had a 1973 AMC Gremlin. Infact, this was durring jr high/high school in the 90's, So I didn't even ride in it much.

Holy crap was that thing dangerous.

I'm 6'6", so any time I wasn't deep in the clutch, my knee was just about out the window. The previous owner cut the springs - the car was so low I couldn't wedge my shoe under it.

It was a monster.
