kinda thinking I should go down the street with the wastegate opened to show them what loud really is :burnrubber:
ah I'm trying to be a good neighbor, but people piss me off.
Do you have an idea of who it is?
My car is also obnoxious on cold start in the morning, but I leave my house at 7:20 or 7:30. Now that school is in session, the kids are up and they're louder than my car waiting for the bus. Granted, I do have a HOA and it says to not have loud exhaust, but between the kids making noise and my community being a big dog community, I feel it all evens out. I'm not one to throw parties and what not.
And like you, I've also improved my townhouse in the last two months of living here. New storm door, glass sliding door this weekend, replacing boards on my deck and staining it, etc.
So far, no one has said anything and I do sometimes get home at 2 or 3am on the weekends, but I try and keep it quiet and shut my car off as I'm rolling into the garage (room directly above my garage).
Thats what I'm feeling theres no like neighborhood watch or commity or anything. I moved to Linden NJ which is like city city. Its not some quiet area, there are tons of fart canned civics that drone for days.
My neighbors that live directly across the street and next door to me have told me on multiple occasions that they are so lucky to have me here because I fixed up the house completely in 3 months or so. did new windows, new roof, brand new driveway, landscaping etc.
The letter is not from the town or anything its typed up envelope with the heading Our New Neighbors with no return address.
I do leave to go to work late. 1130 pm but thats still before midnight.
Same thing around here. Tons of fart canned Civics and other cars and I've seen some of them go 40+mph on our 25mph street.
Where do you work?
I'm not planning on changing anything. I'll definitely post back if anything more comes of it. Its good for anyone else that might encounter d!ck head neighbors like me.
I love how they ask me to leave for work earlier. Like its my personal preference to go to work from 12-8am and to not sleep and live like a normal human being.
Yeah, definitely keep us posted. They have balls to mail you a letter like that. Some neighbors are just jerks (putting it lightly).
A CSB story:
My parents live in a fairly remote neighborhood almost out of city limits. They have a 4 car garage. Their neighbor moved in 6 or 7 years ago. Married, in his 40's, no kids, Italian. Moved from Chicago to get away from noise and buys a 3000 sq ft house (never owned a house in his life). Doesn't do any of his own work. My parents and all of his neighbors have had nothing but problems with him. He dumps his sump pump water into my parents lawn. Parents had to put up a fence because we had no privacy.
Anyhow, my friends and I were working on my dad's old VW Cabby at 10:00 on a Saturday night. We had the air chisel out (doing suspension). He ends up coming to our garage and knocking at the door. We don't hear him. Anyhow, then he
calls my parents house and yells at them.
Buddy, it's Saturday night before the noise rule. He feels that because he moved way out in the country, that he should be in complete silence. Move to a private house then, not a damn neighborhood.
/CSB. Some people are just jerks.
Write them a letter back and say get over it.
Nah, no sense starting something. You don't want to end up coming home to an egged house or keyed car if it's left out one afternoon.
Honestly, they could call the cops, but even the cops probably won't do much.
