I'm always happy when I see someone snap a picture of the plate ? my wife has never appreciated it but it's been a blast haha.

The Nittos are a great tire. Not terrible on the street, I even drove them in some heavy rain and they were great. On the track, they definitely perform well but they're still a "street" tire. Not in the same game as an NT-01, Hoosier, etc.

Looking forward to seeing pics! We need more wide and fat 17" setups.

Still struggling to find MY combo for 2019 Golf SE (street driven/not racer)

Today I saw (below) ?? yr GTI with 245/40-18 Yokahama Advan?? on
RotiForm (guessing 8.5 Wide et45)??? Wheels

Dont think it was lowered but looked "OK" to me

YOUR Thoughts as I'm becoming weary trying to educate myself
on BEST looking Fitment....

Still leaning toward VMR710 et45 Hyper Silver Wheels (currently back ordered)

Holy punctuation of peace Jeff.

Those rotiforms are heavy af and super played out imho. 18x8.5 +44 - +45 seems to be the sweet spot for most on here. My Titan7 TS5 is 18x8.5 +44 on stock 225/40/18 but I'm running 10/15 mm spacers lowered on VWR springs and I don't rub at all. I'll probably have to downsize the rear spacers to 10mm when I get my 235/40/18 ps4s put on.

Not the most agressive but I see a lot of people run this setup an think the offset is acceptable...I think it needed some spacers based on my 19" Pretoria setup with 15mm front and 20mm rear. So far I don't rub but I just did a stud conversion and put the spacers on so I still need more seat time.

These are 18 x 8.5 (45et) Neuspeed Rse10's with a 10mm spacer up front and 15mm spacer in the rear. Tires are 235/40/18 Michelin Alpin PA4's and I'm on ED Springs:

Do you have any pics of your setup currently? I know 225 will probably be too think but I'd like to see how those Titan7's look with the spacers. Pics similar to what I jus posted?

9UNS & MIami Bourne.............You both write about 18x8.5 et45 wheels with 10+mm spacers
so why cant I achieve the same fitment by starting with 18x8.5 et35 with NO spacers (at least in the front)

ESR Wheels (Off Brand that Discount and few others sell) said the following and sent pics...........
"here is a car that actually ran 18x8.5 +35 with 245/40/18 with no spacers or rubbing" (SEE PICS)

I'm thinking that +35 and 245 Tires and then Lowering is going to cause a problem

I ran 235/40 et35 VS 245/40 et 45 at willtheyfit.com and the 245 was 10mm IN from the 235

I want to say running 245/40 would be the problem. Maybe the person had added some negative camber, but also it depends on the tire manufacturer and suspension. Some tires run a little wider and some run narrower than others. But I know some people that run 245/40 and rub a little with Michelin PS4S for example.

Miami, You didnt reply to ................What about running the 245/40 Tire with (less offset) +45
versus your 235/40 (with more offset) +35

Have you ever seen 245/40 on your wheels (18x8.5 et45) w/o spacers ????? on a Golf ???

I'm not sure if the people that rubbed ran spacers or not. PM Navi and see what he says as I believe that's what he is running, see his build below.

MiamiBourne & others................The below are some findings after I measured my current
OE 17" wheels

After taking measurements and using www.willtheyfit.com your statements
dont agree with what I found on my 2019 Golf SE.

1) My 19 Golf came with factory 17 Alloy Wheels which I hope these specs are correct I found at Wheel-Size.com
Tire 225/45R17 Wheel 7x17 ET49

2) Using a 48" Carpenters level standing Vertical and touching front fender I measured into edge of metal
rim and got approx 20mm

3) Using www/willtheyfit.com I compared the above specs with my "new" specs 18x8.5 ET45 (VMR710 Wheel)
and 235/40-18 Tires and the (willtheyfit) calculator says the New (wheel) rim will be OUT 23mm from the Old
so that would be OUT 3 mm More Than Flush ????
(Does anybody know how I can verify what my current factory rim is for specs (17x7 et49) pic below

4) I did same measuring procedure at rear qtr panel. OE back rim (17x7 et49) was IN approx 33mm from edge
of qtr panel so NEW Wheel (18x8.5 et45) will be OUT 23 mm leaving a 10mm Inboard Fitment from Flush.
So assuming this is where I could use a 10mm spacer to make flush???

MiamiBourne, In your above post #770 your using same spec 18x8.5 et45 with same 235/40 tire (same meaning what
my new set up will be) PLUS 10mm spacer but I can't tell from picture angle IF Rim is Outboard from Flush.....but I'm
thinking it Must Be ?????

Yes, the pics posted have a 10mm spacer up front and 15mm on the rear. Internet calculators can only tell some of the story...

I mean you have to factor in suspension (lowering changes the geometry a bit) and also the tire brand as some tires run wider or skinner than others...

Also, I would not call this a 'flush' fitment. I mean the wheel pokes out slightly. I didn't say my setup was flush so I'm not sure what statements are not agreeing...Lol

"I didn't say my setup was flush"

Miami Bourne, I understand that you never said Flush and I couldnt tell from your pics
how far OUT Rubber (sidewall) is from Flush.....
In my case I will wait until I mount my new 18x8.5 et45 (VMR710) & 235/40 Continental DWS
and make my own decisions on How They Look. You evidently didnt like your fitment without spacers.
Why didnt you order et35 to begin with or you didnt know until you installed wheels ???

I think OE lug bolts are 27mm long....Do I need to buy new longer Lug Bolts when I use 10mm
spacers (for example) 37mm long ??
Do I need to buy full sets of 20 or do bolts come in sets of 10 also
Looking for most attractive Bolts to use with Hyper Silver Wheels
What vendor, what brand of spacers and what thickness do they come in
and hub centric 57.1 mm???

Thanks
