Cloverfield + Super 8

About two years ago a movie came out called Cloverfield. During the Iron Man 2 trailer - it showed a teaser trailer directed by J.J. Abrams (who was apart of Cloverfield/LOST/Star Trek)

Any thoughts on Super 8? A lot of people on other forums are saying its a prequel to the movie Cloverfield (which i thought was a great movie).

I thought Cloverfield was a pretty good movie. I saw the short movie trailer and I personally cannot wait to see super 8. I'm guessing it has to be something from another planet and of course it's going to wreak havoc on the world. Just my guess.

Most interesting part of this movie is that it is produced by Spielburg and directed by J.J. Abrams who did an amazing job on Star Trek so this movie should be promising.

I think it may not be directly related to Cloverfield but definitely has to be up the same alley.

We know from the preview they are located in area 51 trying to transport something living in a protected rail car. Of course it crashes and there is something moving inside the rail car that is very strong trying to break out.

I want to guess it is some kind of weird creature either we created genetically or from another world.

What do you guys think?

I think it may not be directly related to Cloverfield but definitely has to be up the same alley.

It could be either or since Area 51 "allegedly" have done experiments with alien technology and what not and I suppose splicing alien dna with humans is within this relm.

But if I had to make a choice...I would say Alien.

Though the one thing that I still don't understand is, why in the world would a truck break the gate and head straight toward the train at full speed?

I guess that's the whole point of this preview to keep us thinking about this movie until next year...hahaha.

That is the only reason I want to guess human genetic work (possibly with alien genetics) and someone trying to stop them from doing anything further.

My question is if this was such an important cargo they were carrying you think there would be an escort of some kind. Even a undercover escort.
