With heated seats I'd say there's a 98% chance you're good to go. My original BCM, a midline, was missing pins for both of those.
I'm by no means an expert with this, but the gateway indicates MQB High. I'm realizing that's the canbus and not the BCM.. I'll have to do another look. Is there an actual module for the BCM in the scan tool? With heated seats I'd say there's a 98% chance you're good to go.
Thought I responded to this... BCM is module 09.I'm by no means an expert with this, but the gateway indicates MQB High. I'm realizing that's the canbus and not the BCM.. I'll have to do another look. Is there an actual module for the BCM in the scan tool?
Back at it again, thanks for this information. Took me a minute to find it, a little new to the whole OBD interface. To preface, I haven't physically installed anything, just playing around in OBD to try what you suggested.Another way to check is to try and set the Leuchte channels to fog light (just the red highlighted ones, don't worry about the others for now).
From old memory the BCM will reject the coding if it does not support fogs (meaning no pins)... that was 3 BCM's ago, haha.

Note: The above coding was taken from this thread... and is correct for adding foglights.
Makes sense. I'm not sure how it corrected itself then.. as I didn't leave the page when I tried the second time. Regardless, it seems like the necessary lines you suggested above were ultimately 'accepted' so should be good.I suspect OBD11 defaults to Diagnostic session. Probably 98% of what we would ever want to change can be done in a Diagnostic session anyway.
You got me, although I kind of did a half-arsed job of it in these posts...@Cuzoe, when are you going to do an EPB write-up?
@Cuzoe Aside from swapping out/Coding the ABS module, what was the largest hassle? The wiring from the ABS to the button to the rear calipers seems like a bit of a job /pain, but manageable. Same with the center console. You got me, although I kind of did a half-arsed job of it in these posts...

Still need to do a post with center console part numbers, and I guess another one with coding.
On the TDI there's the DPF in the way so the ABS has to come out from the bottom, through the exhaust tunnel. I don't know, but assume you can pull the ABS module out from the top on a gasser. That was the largest hassle by far, having no access to a lift. Car up on jack stands high enough to be fully under it. Getting the car on stands is simple enough but I'm usually only up enough to get the wheels off. Had to go higher this time to access front and rear exhaust clamps. So that was annoying. Being I'm doing the work alone I didn't get a good bleed on the brakes. It's good enough that I've been driving around with a soft pedal, but it will be going to a shop for a good bleed. I have not the patience or desire.@Cuzoe Aside from swapping out/Coding the ABS module, what was the largest hassle? Yes indeed, fresh pics this morning. This is with Raceseng Cylix shift knob. I didn't like the feel of the one that came with the shifter. Stock shift boot but will likely be "deleted" for this from CJM Industries.Any pics of the coolerworx shifter installed?
