Forge Diverter Valve Spacer

I'm almost 100 % sure that placing a BOV wouldn't void your warranty. There's almost nothing on the engine that could break by placing a BOV. From what I've heard a BOV would even be better for the turbo.

They have to prove that the BOV was the cause of the failure on the car.

I have had one on for about 20k miles now and absolutely no issues whatsoever. If anything it is too quiet for the likes of most owners who would want a bov. I actually like it as it is.
I am sure Forge in the UK do not claim any power gains, they stand by the line of producing this item just as a noise producer. They have never made the comment or claim of helping the turbo life either as far as I am aware.

Read carefully:

SPACER

It isn't an actual valve, the stock diverter valve is retained and Forges spacer is added to it. The spacer has small holes in it that vent a SMALL amount of the diverted air to the atmosphere which makes the noise more prononced. Because this SPACER is not a valve replacement, and is not affected by or in control of any pressurized induction air, it will NOT give any performance benefits. Also, because it only vents a small portion of the diverted air, the ECU does not see any differences that will cause a CEL.

So yes,.....the Forge spacer is for sound ONLY.

I've got the Forge BOV on my GTI and I really like it. I am sure it is for sound only because i havn't noticed and difference, if anything I think the shifting is smoother. For $65 on eBay I think this is a great way to make a fun car Really FUN to drive!

The videos don't do it justice, in terms of sound.

I ran into a guy with a GLI (well, a homemade GLI seeing as there are no GLI's in Canada... it was a 2.0T with the GTI front he purchased seperately) and he kept revving it for me to hear it. Both parked and taking off down the street, it was louder than I would have expected, especially after watching the videos. Do note that he had a P-Flow on as well, and that may further increase the sound. If what you want is the sound, and to tell the world you have a turbo, it definitely succeeds. He was doing this at a local coffee joint and heads were spinning trying to see what was making the sound. A bunch of guys in a couple of Honda's walked (fast walked, lol) all the way from across this huge parking lot to check it out.

I've always been a fan of the sound, but I've never owned a turbo car until now. I'll be buying the $70 one to try it out. Worst comes to worst, it's a cheap part that's easy to remove... if it reduces mileage, or performance, I'll just take it off.

I had mine on for about 3 weeks. The sound is def. cool and people def. recognize your car if that's what you're going for. I had suspicions that I might have lost a little bit of power with the spacer on.I have a 6M, and every time I would shift, I felt like it lost more power than it should have. I took the spacer off this weekend, and my suspicions seem to hold true. Shifts are just a little bit smoother, with less power lost when engaging the clutch.

Not trying to scare anyone off, just want to give my "review" after using the product everyday for the past 3+ weeks. If you have questions, ask me!!

I feel the same way. I have had the spacer (not a true valve) on for a little over a week and it does seem to rob some power (maybe some turbo lag). Milage is too hard to tell at this point. I'm still getting over 600kms to a tank. The one major down side to the spacer is the length of blow off during certain times. The diverter valve is still in use which is controlled by the ECU, so at times the blow off can last for several seconds. This spacer in NO WAY increases performance, it is strickly cosmetic.

Here's a tip. If you are going to purchase a FORGE BOV, don't waste your money on the adjustable one (like I did). The cheaper version will do the same thing, the adjustable BOV is a total pain in the arse to have adjust, if it can adjust at all.

I think Forge motorsports will take it back for a refund if you don't like it so there's really no risk.. to your wallet at least.

I was curious I see dynos charts for the adjustable Forge DV (100% Atmosphere, 50/50, and the 100% DV) When you just buy the unadjustable Forge spacer what is it most like??? Is it 50/50?? Please let me know I am really curious.....
