I can't find any evidence of 335d being sold in the USA with x-drive. Are you sure about that?

efficient and awd are not compatible terms in the united states due to lack of diesel quattros.

give up the awd and plenty of 50mpg diesels are available :)

335d was sold here, no doubt. But quite rare.

335d yes, but with x-drive? Looks like they only had the X5 35d with x-drive - fairly impressive at 26 mpg in a 5111 lb AWD truck but not what we need at all. Might as well just get a regular I6 328xi at that point.

Newest Impreza is probably the best I've seen MPG vs. AWD.

The Impreza premium package can be had for about $23K; but it is pretty plain-jane on the interior. Layout is nice; it's just very blah...

For not much more (~$27K) you can get into a Legacy 2.5i Limited... Much nicer (leather, power everything, etc) AWD, good handling, and still gets about 32 highway mpg.

Just don't feel like buying a new car only to put 100k on it in 3 years. New Impreza and Legacy are on the radar though, I know nothing about them really. I sat in a 2012 STI for 20 seconds one time, that is my total experience with Subaru.

She likes the new Fusion too but it starts at like $34k for the AWD one... too rich for a Fusion.

At this moment I'm pushing toward a lightly used TT quattro+dsg in the $30k neighborhood, then I might not hate it when I have to drive it

I would much rather a 60 mile commute than 10 miles of stop & go LA traffic. Cruising on a road without any cars getting in your way is super nice.

I like the Legacy idea above. Nice overall package if the MPG is true.

You want to put 100k miles on a USED audi with quattro and a DSG?!

Talk about money pit

SHAWD? Hondas will last.

I'm totally biased though.
