Totally agree, have total respect for what they are. I really do think it was just a kid who didnt know how to drive his car.

Not a downer, it was fun, and a good lesson for me. Plus got me more pumped about my car.

Thanks for your input.

I took a rock to the windshield. A truck towing a car on a trailer got the left side tires off the road and threw rocks all over me and I was at least 5 car lengths back. The Jetta tail gating the guy that had just cut me off didn't seem to get hit though, so that's what I get for not driving like a a-hole.

I’ve had 3 hood resprays due to hauling trucks throwing rocks....love USAA

Italian tune up....30 minutes on hwy 4th gear = 3400+ rpm at 70-80 mph. Each time I do this i am amazed by the 32+ mpg my readout says (yea, I adjusted it).

I woke up at 3:00 AM figured it was something kinda productive.

Washed it for the first time in 5+ weeks.

And only because I'm taking it to the local specialty Euro shop here for an alignment today and figured it'd be nice to blast as much shit and grime off the suspension / undercarriage as I could, first. So, I got up an hour earlier than usual, because 6am is the only time of the day it isn't too hot.

I will be interested to see the before/after on the specs.

Since I bought it two years ago, I've installed springs and shocks, new CABs all around, had the axles out, etc etc and never went to align until today.
I know no one will believe it but if there's anything off, I can't notice it. Car tracks straight, handling is nice, and 10,000 miles on my Conti's and they've worn very normally through all of the above.

I *think* the wheel is very very slightly off center. It's so little that I'm not even sure sometimes.
But now that's i'm pretty much done with taking those bits apart for a while, i guess it's time.

So I started on the boost gauge install. Prety much the same as the GTI. Only thing is this time I'm using the throttle body spacer boost tap. Its eta is Saturday, so I'll be patiently waiting.

I also hard wired a 96w quick charger into the cubby hole. Now I dont have to have the 12v cord stretched by the shifter.
