You win. The RE71R is huge at 245/40/18. I need some more pics.

There are a few more in this post in my build thread: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/inde...015-limestone-grey-golf-r.366763/post-7332959. Here is one from Buttonwillow a couple of weeks ago on 18x9 et45 Neuspeed RSe11R wheels and 255/35R18 Dunlop ZIII tires. I am turning to the right in the photo so the left side of the car is loaded up, compressing the suspension.

Ooops, forgot to put pics here. I think this qualifies as agressive.

18x9 ET45 Advan GT = 18.5lb
265/35R18 Nankang AR1 semi slicks = 29.1lb

Camber is -2.5 Front on 034 plates and MSS Sports springs, and -1.8 Rear.

Do you also own a S2000? I have seen pics of the s2k and this gti with the same background AND in Ontario!

I'm pretty certain this setup wouldn't cause any rubbing issues, but figured I'd throw it out there.

18R with mss adjustable front and rear track adjustable springs, oem dampers (dcc), 034 front camber plates. 18x8 +35 bbs rgr wheels wrapped in 245/40/18 Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 tires.

I'm thinking the screw mod may be all I'd need if anything.

Thoughts?

Ok, I'll play.

18x9 et45 Neuspeed RSe10 wheels with 265/35R18 Bridgestone RE71R tires. The car is lowered about 0.5" from the stock Golf R ride height on Ohlins R&T coilovers with 7" Swift main springs (80n front/110n rear) paired with helper springs that collapse to a 0.7" height. Camber is -2 degrees in front on Ground Control plates and -1.8 in the rear, and caster angle is stock. Rake was set to 0.25" when the car was corner balanced in early October. No spacers and no fender modifications. This is as low as my car can go without rubbing with this size tire, and the half inch drop is consistent with what Ohlins recommended as the maximum ride height reduction for their coilovers.

I went 265/35 based on your and crild's setups.
With 245/40, I was just over 25.25 F and 25.5 R fender to ground, so with the slightly shorter 265/35, that should be even less. I have yet to measure. So I think you're spot on at 25.5 being minimum without rubbing. Granted you're running huge ass re71r's. I will be raising half an inch to account for crappy roads and my softer springs.

I also run 18x9 265/35 RE71Rs

Case in point. Those re71R's are steamrollers. Holy cow! Looks great though.

Here's the only pics I have right now.
Rennform 18x9 et45
FK510 265/35R18

Going with 3mm spacers in the front because surprisingly ST40 kit won't fit behind these. Well they will but with a fingernail space from spokes. I think it'll be alright since fronts are inset more than rears.

I posted my ground to fender height in this post a few days ago: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/2017-gti-pp-at-vir.351754/post-7366799 That was with the 255/35 tires mounted. I put on the 265's late last week before an event yesterday and they add 0.25" to that height. The shop I used for my recent round of mods used the 265's to set the ride height when they installed and corner balanced the new suspension. This was as low as they could go on that tire without rubbing.

I think the GTI folks have experienced some clearance issues in the rear with a 255-265 tire size and the fuel filler hose. I don't have a GTI so I can't speak to that. The R appears to be configured somewhat differently.

Yeah. I remember you posting that on another thread.

Just measured today and I'm 25 1/16" F. 25 1/4" R. So definitely need to go up 1/2"-3/4". No rubbing on fuel filter, but I'm 1.8. Not sure if different than GTI.

Forgot to update my 2019 setup, 2020 should come with even more camber in the front:

18x9 Advan GT ET45
265/35R18 Pirelli Trofeo R
MSS track springs
034 plates

Camber: F, -2.6; R, -2
Caster: Stock

Looked at those Advan GT and immediately fell in love (been searching for a solid 18x9 setup), then had a reality check when I checked the price tag on those
