just clipped someones car

i just clipped someones car as i was parking. it was a honda element. damage is about 2 two inch scratches through the clear coat on the rear fender right next to the wheel well. im a poor college kid that really cant afford this right now. i dont want to get insurance involved as well. how much do you think it will cost to fix the damage? thanks

Depending on how deep the scratches are, they may buff right out or they may require a professional to do the paint correction.

How do you know he isn't still paying for it? You can finance used cars too. He will also have to pay insurance for the car as well.

it looks as if it went through the clear, so its not an easy buff out job. just wondering what the going rate is for a repair.
