Backfires on the DSG GTI?

Some magazines I've seen refer to it as "overrun"

It's not a bad thing, more a characteristic of the DSG when it blips the throttle on downshifts or when you get off the throttle after gunning it...

That's part of the DSG experience... Unless you're talking about something else..

People have refered to this as the DSG shift burp. It does sound like a burp.

DSG briefly closes the throttle between shifts which is what causes that little burping noise perfectly normal prevents overrev when the engine is completly disingauges from the trannie.

There is no bang like a backfire. It's more like a poof...or a fart but not a bad sounding fart. I love it.

powershifting is when u press the clutch in to shift without lifting off the gas peddle

I believe this is also known in some parts as flatshifting

never heard of "flatshifting"...that may be a down under thing....here in the states most people know that as "powershifting" :biggrin:

flatshifting all the way.

i like that sound your talking about it not like a wrx completly anyway its uniqe one reason y i dont really want to upgade the zorst, as i dont want too loose that sound.

geez, how come i didnt notice that sound when i did the testdrive last month.

so itchy to know how that "backfire" or "fart" sounds like lol
