completely random question! I'm just curious how the moderators on this forum became moderators. what does it take? I don't want to be a moderator, I've just been so damn curious!

Moderators are usually nominated by existing moderators and appointed by site admin.

Typically members who are helpful, respectful highly-active are considered when additional support is needed.

Oh, I'm active. Although I was just in Thailand and Singapore on holiday with limited internet access.

And because I don't post a ton, I'm busy moving, merging and deleting threads and banning spammers. There is a lot of behind the scenes work that members do not see.

Add: not to mention all the PMs we receive from members for a variety of reasons. We can actually spend quite a bit of time helping out in different capacities outside of public forums.
