My car has gone into the workshop today for the following. Will I finally get a newer version of the software? I am currently on 1668. I have a courtesy car as they said it could take up to a week, thankfully its another MK8 after pleading with them not to give me a Polo

I mean the latest OTA which is the same version with the one already installed...The reason I am asking is that I have lost voice commands and navigation when I updated from 1668 to i1896...they haven t found what caused this and it has not been rectified by applying 1899 or 1941 by usb... The only solution the give me is to pay for a new infotainment unit of 2000 €

Some specific checks regarding navigation on the 166x to 17xx update procedure were present on Erwin.
"If the predictive route data function is not activated, navigation will not be possible. It will no longer start on the vehicles concerned after the software update."

So this is the 91DR recall similar to the 91CU recall with the only difference being an exchange of the Gateway control unit to a later revision model. So many of the control units in the car will receive software updates and the infotainment unit will be updated to 1899 or 1941 if they have revised the recall TPI bulletin.

(already have 1941 since 5/2023)

Thanks for the heads up. Popped up for me now, just downloading.

Got small Shop update the day before yesterday, was still on 1899 as a result. And just yesterday 1941 OTA update appeared and began downloading, finished today. After installing 1941 that Shop update reappeared again and installed quickly.

^Your map data almost year old... Latest 23.10. If you dont have we connect plus, you can update it manually twice for year.
Log it to my volkswagen web page and download maps to usb-c memory card.

Thanks pal.... How can I see if that is the case? Is a visit to the workshop needed for the check? Is there any tool to check it myself?
